TO
ATTEND TOOLMAKING AND PRECISION
MACHINING OPEN DAY
Invitation to anyone interested in a
career in Toolmaking and / or Precision Machining.
This is an opportunity to apply to participate in a
tool and die-making apprenticeship and become a qualified artisan with an
internationally recognised qualification.
Attendance of one of the open days at one of the
venues indicated below is ESSENTIAL
to enable you to obtain all the relevant information as well as application
forms to be allowed on to the programme.
Everybody is welcome and all information will be
shared at the open day.
- "South Africa is currently experiencing a critical shortage in technical skills in the manufacturing industry and particularly in the areas of toolmaking and precision machining, which are essential skills to support a viable manufacturing industry and a strong economy.
- TASA, the Toolmaking Association of South Africa, have taken drastic steps to address this problem with the implementation of an internationally recognised programme to develop these skills in the tooling and precision machining industries.
- The Toolmaking apprenticeship programme leading to a fully fledged and highly sought after internationally recognised artisan qualification is based on a competency based programme over a period of three to four years.
- The course content include fundamental and applied theory, workshop practical training and on the job training with participating toolmakers and machine shops. This provide students with an extensive array of practical industry experience and exposure, including CAD/CAM and CNC training.
